This is James Evan Pilato of MediaMonarchy.com and this is James Corbett of CorbettReport.com
and we'd like to welcome you back to the New World Next Week and I'd like to apologize
for last week when there was no episode of this video series because I was sick in bed
with food poisoning so you'll forgive me for taking a week off, but at any rate we're back
and ready to go. And of course you can not only get New World Next Week from NewWorldNextWeek.com
but now there's also another way to get New World Next Week for those people living in
Europe who have access to the Sky satellite. Well you can now watch New World Next Week,
as well as my Sunday Update series and other videos, from CorbettReport.com on Sky channel
201 thanks to the efforts of ParadigmShift.tv So people who want more information about
how to tune into that please go to ParadigmShift.tv and there is a link from CorbettReport.com
So now there are even more ways to watch this program and to get your weekly fix of news.
And speaking of the weekly fix of news, James, what stories do we have up to today?
There, of course, is so much to go over and I think you know we should tell folks that
this show can by no means be a comprehensive rundown on everything that's going on the
world. And I would say sometimes just because we may not cover what would seem to be maybe
an obvious or big story, it's not because we don't want cover something or we're covering
something up. It's just I think we try and put together three stories within the 15 minutes
that kind of help paint a broader picture. So James, there's a story going quite large
here in the states and its February 16th to me here in Portland, Oregon. "CBS reporter
Lara Logan assaulted in Cairo" and this still comes around all the Egyptian events that
we've seen around the world that, of course, seems like a domino effect. But there've also
been commentators Nir Rosen and Bill Maher and people have resigned and fired and it's
turning into a tabloid story. But we want to use that salacious story, and disgusting
as it is, to I think draw attention to something that needs more coverage. So we'll take it
from Voice of America, and yes they are rumored to be intelligence-connected, but we'll take
news from all around the world, and as we always say with these things you know do more
research for yourself. "Pentagon Sued for Allegedly Mishandling *** Assault Complaints
- More than a dozen current and former members of the US military filed a lawsuit Tuesday
in Washington claiming the US Defense Department mishandled their claims of being sexually
harassed, assaulted and *** by fellow servicemembers while on active duty. The alleged victims
want the Pentagon to change the way it handles such *** assault cases. In a class-action
lawsuit, a group of more than a dozen current and former US military service members, mostly
female, say they were *** or abused by their comrades. They claim, when incidents were
reported, military commanders repeatedly failed to act and they were ordered to continue to
serve with those who allegedly abused them. Myla Haider who served in the Army says she
was *** by a fellow soldier in Korea in 2002" and the horror stories just go on and
on, but we'll cut to the chase and also mention that "the lawsuit claims the alleged abuse
ranged from obscene verbal abuse to even gang ***. The case names Defense Secretary Robert
Gates and his predecessor (the 'Defender of the Constitution') Donald Rumsfeld as defendants
claiming they did nothing to handle such complaints and concerns." James, before I throw it back
to you, I think this shines a light on regardless of what you think of the war and 'support
the troops' and the politics of 'should we be where we are?'. If you can't even take
care of the people once they come back, if they make it back through the meat grinder.
What does that tell you about the overall structure? Right, I mean that's a good point
and especially I mean if they make it through the meat grinder and think of all the different
ways that the troops are exposed to harm and even actively harmed by the military from
the experimental vaccines that they're shot up with to all the tests, the Project SHAD's
and other things that they do on them and then to add to that this type of degradation
and abuse I mean it's absolutely … I certainly hope that the people involved can get justice
but um to a certain extent if you sign up for the US military … well if you sign up
for military you are going to be subjecting yourself to all sorts of horrible things and
of course we don't want to see the happen to anyone. But this actually, this story reminds
me of the *** abuse of Blackwater employees that was alleged a couple of years ago, but
i don't really remember what happened with that story. Do you have follow up for that?
um, I don't off the top of my head and that's the unfortunate thing, so many of these things
go just kind of go down the memory hole. I think we can probably close up this coverage
with the somewhat apocryphal quote from Kissinger who was alleged to have said: "Military men
are dumb stupid animals to be used as pawns in foreign-policy."
So James, we'll move to our second story and this was one that I was really interested
in and we were gonna cover it last week: "FCC Announces Nationwide 'Presidential Emergency
Alerts' to be Tested" - and we'll take the text from EmergencyMgmt.com - "The FCC has
made it official. It's released an order that requires participants in the 'Emergency Alert
System', the EAS, namely broadcasters cable operators and certain satellite providers,
to participate in the first ever national test of the EAS. The test will differ starkly
from the monthly EAS tests the public know so well." And folks here in the states know
them from listening to the radio and probably all around the world as well, the *ERG-ERG-ERG*
- "In this case, the White House will actually activate the test as if the President wanted
to take over the airwaves to address the nation. Although EAS-type capabilities have, of course,
existed since the early '50s, no President has ever used it. Now we're going to find
out how well it actually works. The FCC order," which we do have a link to the PDF for you
"lays out how the test will be conducted. It will use what many emergency managers know
as the EAN code, that's 'Emergency Alert Notification', the code reserved for the President to activate
the EAS." This gets into other acronyms and things, James, that we don't have to dive
into, but of course it involves FEMA and the FCC and something called 'Primary Entry Point'
stations, PEP. And I'll mention to folks, in my most recent episode 205 of the Media
Monarchy podcast, I go into a little greater detail of this and my experiences at an FM
radio station on the morning of 9/11 and how some of these events work. So, of course,
there's always been a system set up for the President to address the nation, but now they're
taking it a step further in these sort-of unprecedented moves of having, what many reports
have just explicitly said 'Oh yeah, it's basically going to be the Obamessiah appearing on your
telescreen'. What's your take on this, Winston? Yeah! Well, very good question. I mean that's
exactly, I mean exactly what comes to my mind. Can you get any more Big Brother-ish than
having Big Brother himself appearing on your telescreen to give you commands? I mean, it
is quite scary and I think when I was listening to the latest Media Monarchy one of the things
that struck me that was kind of scary about all of this is the fact that we're really
moving into the age in which an event can be completely and totally digitally engineered
and made out of nothing. It reminds me of 'The Running Man' and it's been a long time
since I that watched that movie, based on the Stephen King story, but basically they
made a character completely up and it was just a digital creation but they put it on
the news as if it was a real person. And that's - we're getting to the point we could have
an entire staged 9/11 and if they take down the Internet and then put this type of broadcast
out on during the confusion, i mean imagine the kind of things that they could pull off
in the confusion. So to me, this is just a really terrifying idea and people have to
be smart about what's going on and use their own head. Media literacy, to say the very
least. But again, this is something that you know I find extremely fascinating. Orson Welles,
I'm a huge Orson Welles fan and, of course he of 'War of the Worlds' and you know the
most amazing mass psyop we've seen in the states probably. And you're exactly right,
these kind of events, and call it 'Project Bluebeam' or a psyop or any of these things
could, you're absolutely right, be invented and I even think of something you know a lot
of my favorite films and shows usually have involved breaking through that encroaching
system. So you know films like 'Pump Up the Volume' or even in things like 'V for Vendetta',
which I would not say is one of my favorites, but seizing the media to break through that
wall and that's always just kind of been i think a recurring theme, so this is just really
intrinsically important to me, but I digress…
James, our third story relates quite well I would say: "Computer Crushes Competition
on 'Jeopardy!' - The computer brained its human competition in game one of the man versus
machine competition on 'Jeopardy!'. On the 30 question gameboard, veteran jeopardy champs
Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter managed only five correct responses during the Double Jeopardy
round. Watson, their IBM Supercomputer nemesis emerged from the Final Jeopardy round with
$35,734." James, what are we talking about here? IBM has created a super computer and
is going up against the long time, I think all time 'Jeopardy!' champions and the computer
is named Watson. So you can also bring to mind I believe is when you know Garry Kasparov
played Big Blue in the chess champion tournaments, man versus machine. And it's the classic John
Henry type situation. The other part we'll take from Cnet news and at first bit was just
from the Associated Press, Watson crashed quite often during these Jeopardy tapings
and it's noted "Watching IBM's Watson make spaghetti bolognese out of the silent lambs
of humanity, former Jeopardy kings Jennings and Rutter was a troubling experience. However,
I've awoken to a little hope for the imperfect species. They revealed that Watson's performance
wasn't quite as slick as it might've appeared in the precious few minutes of screen time
we're offered. 'He crashed a bunch of times, it took over four hours to tape the show.
Most of the delays were due to the crashes.'" Now there was a letter to the newspaper and
I can't recall if it was in our own Oregonian here or if I saw it in the New York Times,
but somebody made the comparison that "Well, yeah of course, the supercomputer is probably
gonna win, but it's like being impressed that a NASCAR could beat a cheetah, that essentially
these supercomputers or whatever they are, they're still not gonna compete against the
dynamic human spirit I would say, James. Right, well uh that's an important factor and I don't
want to be the Luddite here who is unnecessarily hating on technology because it is an incredible
accomplishment and to program something to be able to respond to these types of answers
and questions, I mean it truly is a technological feat and you know: a round of applause for
the people involved! But unfortunately it always comes back to who's controlling the
technology and as you and I know, IBM is a horrific company that was founded by a eugenicist
for the purpose of carrying out eugenics and was used exclusively for that purpose in Germany
during the Nazi reign, so um. [overlapping] And what was his name? Watson? Yeah, that's
why they named the supercomputer that! I would say that this is came up in conversation at
work the other day this jeopardy IBM series going on and it was a great opportunity to
mention to folks that 'hey you know IBM, Hollerith punchcards, the serial number, they helped
automate the holocaust, they helped make it happen.' the final solutions company and just
mention you know 'IBM & the Holocaust', the work of Edwin Black. That's I think one of
the great ways that you can use these kind of water cooler, pop culture kind-of stories
to get at the greater heart of what's going on. Right, and on that note, people who've
listened to the Corbett Report might remember I used to interview Greg Nikolettos on a monthly
basis about this type of story and he's been off-line for several months, they got hacked
and they got taken down, but they're back up, so WeThePeopleWillNotBeChipped.com is
back up and it's a great resource on this topic specifically.
Okay, so James, we're just about out of time but we'll throw in one little bonus note as
a follow-up to our previous episode's mention of Rumsfeld getting the award as a 'Defender
of the Constitution' - um, we just had the Obamessiah honoring former President George
HW Bush and the whole Bush Crime Family was there, rubbing elbows with Jasper Johns and
Maya Angelou and Warren Buffett, so there you go. Thanks for the update from the Ministry
of Truth, Winston. Exactly. Thanks for all your help again this week, thank you. Alright,
I appreciate it, take care.
