I am Francesc Puertas
corsetry knowledge popularizer
Today I want to draw your attention to some important data:
7 out of 10 women don't use the right size of bra;
9 out of 10 do not know their real size or cup
and half of the medical consultations about mammary pain could be avoided if women
knew their size and cup
This is important enough to explain you
how to calculate your cup size.
Today we will start with the bra and cup size
in centimetres.
This first step is to measure right under the bustline.
. This measure, tighting the tape very well,
will give us a figure that we can look up at the corresponding table.
For instance, let's imagine that we got a measurement of 74cm,
the size we will have will be a 75 or 90.
I'll tell you abou it later.
So, as I said, a measurement of 74 corresponds...
...to a size 75 or 90.
It depends on wether it is a French/Spanish or European size.
The European size corresponds to
the same measurement result
but rounding it to 5 or 0
For instance, if your measurement
is 74cm
your European size will be 75.
The French/Spanish size is calculated the same
as the European one
but adding "15" to it.
. This way, if your measurement was 74cm, your French/Spanish size
will be 75 + 15 = 90.
There is a second step but notice something.
It is important to remember that this figure we have just calculated
is essential to understand how it all works.
The second step is to measure the bustline,
lifting the *** and adjusting the tape betwen them,
from the breastbone and horizontally
measuring everything.
I recommend you to lift your breats with a bra
that pulls them to the front so that you can measure
the complete bustline depth.
Once we have this figure,
we have to look it up
at the table at the same line as the previous measurement.
I will explain it better:
Let's imagine that the second measurement is 95cm
If the previous one was 74cm
we will look the second figure at the same line.
In this case, at the same line as 74
we have size 94-96
that indicates that the cup size is D.
that indicates that the cup size is D.
It is important that you have all this information.
For this reason I recommend you a book entitled:
"The bra: miths and legends...and user manual"
published by Arcopress.
In it you will find all the information related to this calculation and sizes.
