Decisions. We make them every single second of the day. Whether we know it or not,
whether they're big or small,
where would we be without the endless options of the universe? But...
with infinite options come many quandaries.
A complex network of decisions
spans across the enormity of our minds.
It's so easy to lose yourself; become mislead
and take a wrong turn.
We've all made wrong decisions in life, no doubt.
It's only human curiosity to know what it felt like to press that button, to taste that wine,
to turn right on the A Three bypass.
Most of us learn from our wrong choices, but some say there is only one thing more painful than learning from experience.
That is NOT learning from experience.
I digress.
Is it ignorance that causes us to make the wrong decisions, or is it just human curiosity?
Perhaps there is something to be gained from it.
The possibilities are endless.
But when we make wrong decisions and we realise it soon enough,
what do we do? Do we turn back?
Take another path? Or carry on as we were, hoping for a way out?
An example of this would be a lie.
An innocent-ish little lie that spiralled into a tangling web,
spun from the silk of our nerve and our desperation to stop.
Very few times are there a way out of this.
There will be no side-paths usually, so STOP.
Don't keep spinning tales.
For me, it's like falling into a ditch.
Cliché as it may be, I'll work with that.
Don't keep digging.
Don't think that a lie is your shovel
to dig a side tunnel
out of the soil
up through the earth and come up.
You'll only dig deeper until you're so deep that no-one can hear your cries for help,
and you'll be stuck.
So, like I say, there are no side tunnels.
But in this example it's NEVER
too late to turn around and come back to safety.
An apology is all you need.
Come back, take a new path,
and never make that mistake again.
