The roads are nice and slick..uh..especially at the intersections. So I got Carter up early
so he can experience..uh..what that's like to drive on icy road conditions. We're just
going to do it in the neighborhood to get a feel for it and I thought it would be fun
to tap on the brakes and allow the car to slide a little bit to kind of get the experience.
So are you ready, Carter? Yeah. Are you excited? I guess. Okay so here we go. Stop like you
would normally stop. I want to see if we can create a sliding condition. That was actually
pretty good for ice. He's actually too good at this. There.. you notice a slide when you
took off? Yeah. Have you experienced that before? See how it slides around? You notice
how you corrected it? How did you correct that? You just let off the gas. Try to stop
a little harder at this stop sign. You notice how it slid a little bit? Once you go up this
hill, take off kind of with a little bit of acceleration so you can see how it may slide
around. See how it slips and slides? You went all the way across the road because it slid
across. Yeah. Once you've done that a few times..um..you'll kind of get a feel for how
to handle that. The sun is about to come up and our slippery conditions are gonna go away
here, so try to take off kind of fast here. Oh! It doesn't go, does it? Ohhh. Good job
handling the sliding. Take this corner a little bit easier and slower and you'll notice you
can control it in most situations. One thing you remember the brake isn't always your friend
on ice. You can lightly touch the brake to slow down, but when you slam on it..uh..you
tend to slide. Alright.Great job! I think that was a good experience.
