Hey, Ronnie Bincer, your helpful Hangout Helper guy, going to give you a tip on how do you
track comments that take place inside a very important area inside Google+ called Events.
So we're looking at what here is the Comment Tracker Stand-alone App, that's outside of
the Hangout window. And I'm going to quickly shift over and we're going to look at what
I think is one of the greatest places to encourage people to find your event or your hangout
on air, is inside what's called an event. Now Fraser Cain has one. We've been talking
about how do we make it work and track the comments in the event. That's a bit of a problem.
So what we're going to do is just going to open up this particular event. I'm just going
to click on where it said Virtual Star Party, and take a look at one of the things that
you can do to be able to help you track your comments that are going on inside an event,
and that is adding in something like this, a unique hashtag. He's done #starparty-sep16,
for September 16th. So that's a unique hashtag. Then we're going to go over to the Comment
Tracker. We're going to type that right here into, whoops got to type it, #starparty-sep16. So we type in
our unique hashtag. We click Search Google+. There it is. But I happen to know, in fact,
let's take a look just to verify, there's a whole lot more comments going on right now
inside that area. So it isn't quite done yet. So let's take a look. What have we got to
do next? This is the results. So basically you get the results you find. Is this the
one you want? Well, if you made it uniquely enough, hopefully it is. And then you mouse
over it, slide over right near over the trash can. There's this little icon, and if I mouse
over there long enough, it should say, there it is, Track Comments. So I'm going to click
on that, and now we've got our comments. So we've got all these different comments that
have been going on inside that particular event. Now, something else that's new to the
Comment Tracker is it allows you to refresh. In other words, you don't check a box before,
but now this particular event, next to the trash can on the left there's a little refresh
or check reshares. I'm going to click on that and see the magic happen. All right, because
Fraser Cain and his hangouts about the star parties are pretty popular, there's plenty
of other people that have reshared his particular event, and there they are and all the comments
that are going on from all of these will be tracked here inside of Hangout Comment Tracker.
So hopefully that's helped you through the process of dealing with events, which is a
great place to put and advertise your particular show and let those comments that take place
inside there be visible to you inside the Stand-alone App, which is called Comment Tracker.
