Hi, today we will take a closer look at the new Leopard and Giant Gecko starter kits from Energy Micro.
They both feature an onboard J-Link emulator and can be powered directly from USB or a
coin cell battery.
The kit includes the latest AEM system, and a 32 megabyte NAND Flash.
A metal sensor, touch interface and a light sensor is also ready for your application.
A small capacitor is mounted so you can test the Leopard and Giant´s backup RTC mode.
The capacitor powers the EFM32´s real-time clock and status registers for extended periods
of time using only a few hundred nano amps. This is very useful for battery operated applications.
If you want to use the USB interface, code examples are also available.
Here we´re using the 1 MB Flash memory as a mass storage device.
When you switch to debug mode, you can use the free energyAware Profiler to learn more
about your applications current consumption. Real-time data is displayed on your screen,
and you can zoom in to debug.
