Gillette is actually thrilled to be here today at Montreal Fashion Week
and for you to join us for what we hope you'll find to be a really
interesting panel discussion about the evolution of men's fashion.
Earlier this year, Gillette launched what we call the
Fusion ProGlide styler.
And it's the first of its kind from Gillette that is a three-in-one
product that helps a man shave, trim, and sculpt his face.
As it used to be, you had a signature look, and that's what you wore.
I mean, facial hair, my dad wore a big mustache for 30 years, and that was
him, right?
It was stuff like that.
And now because guys can do so much research and find out what exactly
they're going for, whether it's the look they're going for, or the
accessories, or whatever, they're changing their facial hair rapidly.
So guys are really using it as an accessory, I think.
[SPEAKING FRENCH]
Today, you don't always have to be super manicured to look great.
I think to have an unfinished way of acting, of looking, is fine.
I think what's great these days, too, is that no matter the look, no matter
the unfinished beard, the uncombed hair--
everything goes in every field.
It's not because you're a lawyer that you can't have an unfinished beard.
Now the availability and of the different styles is
acceptable for everyone.
Buy something that's going to last, and then with those pieces, use
accessories to change it up.
And facial hair is one of those examples.
Be gutsy, facial hair.
The same, you use the styler, be gutsy in that area, too.
Because the way you take care of yourself, the way you dress, I think,
says a lot about who you are and the confidence that you have in yourself.
Because you're taking care of every aspect of yourself.
We never have time to polish ourselves as much as we want.
But just don't shave, but make sure that you're going to use the proper
products, that you have either an easy look or a really well-polished look.
Michele and I put together three different looks here.
This is what we think are--
they're very classic looks, but sort of "of the moment." First one here,
Julien's our model.
This is what we call a modern business look.
So it's still your classic navy blue suit.
Subtle plaid suit, striped shirt, striped tie.
And here's a great example.
You can wear facial hair to the office.
It's a good idea to keep it clean and neat, of course.
So here, we did a light goatee.
It's really not a full-face goatee.
It's just a mustache.
Our second look here is something you can wear in a business casual setting.
It's also something you'd wear for a date.
So it's sort of that transitional look.
You can go to the office, then you can go out at night.
Facial hair, here, we went with just a light scruff, right?
It's the old sexy scruff that women love, right?
So it's not too formal for the office, because he doesn't have to be super
dressy, but it gives them a little bit of character.
And the other look is more guy that finished work and is going at his
country house.
In this case, the beard becomes an accessory.
And he is a perfect example of how mixing colors all together, palettes
of reds, of blues.
And if fits.
It matches.
