In this segment, we're going to talk about identifying the proper caliber of ammunition.
In this case we've got a 12 gauge shotgun, but there are several different pump action
shotguns out on the market today. And several different calibers or gauges, if you want
to call them that. They, from the 410 shotgun, the 20 gauge shotgun, the 16 gauge shotgun,
28 gauge and 12 gauge. This one here is a 12 gauge shotgun, and if you take a closer
look with me here, the way to identify this shotgun is if you look on the barrel. You'll
see that it says 12 gauge three and a half inch, three inch, or two and three quarter.
Now, this tells you that this particular shotgun will handle a two and three quarter inch shell,
a three inch shell, or a three and half inch shell. Not all shotguns can handle all size
shells. And what I mean by that is, it's the length of the shells that goes in the shotgun.
So make sure and look at your pump action shotgun and look at the writing on the barrel
to dictate what caliber or what gauge you shoot through yours. That's how you identify
the proper caliber of ammunition for your shotgun.
