Earthquakes shake Canada and the Philippines. On Friday, July 23, a temblor measuring 4.1
on the Richter scale rumbled the south shore of Canada’s Quebec City, with residents
of the area reporting tremors that shook buildings. On Saturday, a series of five major earthquakes
struck the Philippines’ Moro Gulf, with three that were magnitude 7.3 or higher. Centered
100 kilometers off the southern coastal city of Cotabato, the generated tremors could be
felt as far north as Manila 800 kilometers away. There were thankfully no injuries or
damage and no immediate tsunami warnings issued.
We thank Heaven for the safety of the Canadian and Philippine residents as we also pray for
the minimizing of distressing events as these as humanity strives for gentler regard of
all life
