Hello, I'm Pierre Landalt, a bio-dynamic farmer
in the Northeast of Brazil, in the state of ParaĆba.
Fazenda TamanduĆ” is 3,000 hectares. One third is a nature reserve,
one third is used for pasture and one third is used for cultivation.
More or less 200 hundred people are living here on the farm; about 40 families.
As culture we have mangoes, we have melons and watermelons
depending on the quantity of water we have. Of course we are also breeding bees
and making research with jatropha for biodiesel
and other interesting uses of spirulina.
Something very important in a bio-dynamic farm is the integration of the animal.
For that reason we are breeding cattle
and producing dairy cattle for producing milk,
and we're also breeding goats for making goat milk.
In the farm we have also a lot of reservoirs that we are using
exclusively for irrigation during the dry season for mangoes, melons and watermelons.
Something I'm very proud of is the constitution of a real team
and this will guarantee for the future the continuation
of my job and my work. This is something that, for me, is very important.
