As you might know we drive a Fiat 500 TwinAir
We have fitted it with some Abarth-style striping with our logo
This makes it look a bit better, more like Auto-Top
but it's still not exciting to drive
When we were at Fiat NL to return an Abarth
we always saw this little thing standing there: An Abarth 500C Esseesse
Only then the weather wasn't good enough
always raining and low temperatures
but not this time..
What's the big difference with a normal Abarth 500C
Well with this one you get perforated brakedisks
different wheels and more power
this has 160 instead of 140 BHP
and that's noticable
Also a different intake and exhaust
Those two combined produce a great sound
This particular version also has the "Tributo"-style exhaust
which has 4 end pipes
That's a great exhaust, but I will come back to that later on
I forgot to mention the "Koni" suspension
which is also part of the "Esseesse" pack
We drove the Abarth 500C with the awkward automatic transmission
called "Selespeed"
when you shifted in that one it would rock back and forth
and in corners it felt like the suspension was made from bubblegum
it was all over the place
The Koni suspension solves this problem
but it's still no sportscar
there is little to no feedback through the wheel
it is not like a Clio RS or Corsa OPC/VXR
so don't think it's like those but without a roof
it's just not really a drivers car
When should you get this one
Well, when you are looking for a fun car
and when you choose sensation over performance
because this exhaust bangs and gargles like no other
and that is just a lot of fun
What's more fun to do?
0-100 in 6 seconds or 0-100 with a big smile on your face
I said I would revisit the exhaust
It can really *** when you shift at the right rpm and turbo pressure
But what do you know, it won't do it when we press record on the camera
so we're trying to record some nice bangs for over half an hour now
but in the end, we got some nice ones.
