What if the answer is no? Sometimes, it is. Sometimes, you don’t want to let go and
that’s okay. So I would start by recognizing that that you don’t always have to be doing
this process. But the second thing you can notice is if you’re having a hard time letting
go, we have something called Step Five. Step Five if you’re stuck or having difficulty,
let go of wanting to change or fix the stuckness. Now, that might seem counter intuitive. But as
you let go of wanting to change it as you let go of wanting to fix it, it rights itself.
And often, the whole problem just dissolves just from that release. But the other thing
you can do if you’re having a hard time letting go is give yourself permission to
hold on. Now I know that might seem odd. Why would you want to do that? Well, you’re
holding on anyway. You might as well do what you’re doing when you’re doing it. The
more you let yourself hold on when you’re holding on and let go when you let go, the
easier it gets. Plus, if you give yourself permission to hold on, what happens is naturally,
you feel more inclined to let go. You may even let go spontaneously by giving yourself
permission to hold on. Unless you give yourself permission to hold on, you can simply ask
yourself, “Well now, I kind of let it go.” And more times than that, you’ll find the
answer is yes.
