Hey, this is Betsy Weigle from Classroom Caboodle. Today, I'm going to talk to you about what
I figured out about cases for your iPad in the classroom.
Alright, so let’s talk cases for your iPad for your classroom. I have a few to show you.
The first one I’m going to show you is made by Targus. It’s a great, very durable professional-looking
iPad case. I'll show you a few of the features.
So if you open it up, you can automatically tilt it. There’s three different levels
of tilt for it. It has a handhold on the back where you can put your thumb around for walking
around the classroom. I find it to be a little clunky and awkward, and it is pretty heavy.
It does not have that magnet and it turns your iPad on and off when you open it.
So I went looking for other options. Let me show you what I came up with.
Alright. So I came up with the Trent Grabbit. Really easy to snap in. It’s a hard, plastic
case, has a leather strap on the back. It’s really well made. The great thing is, easy
to slide your hand in the back of it and you can rotate the screen any way you want it
while you’re walking around. Pretty handy, and it is a good, snug fit; I don't feel like
it’s going to fall off my hand.
The Grabbit comes with a hard, plastic case to go over the front of it, which might be
great for traveling, but it is a snap-on, snap-off, which isn’t that functional for
me. It does have a stand that pops into the back circle here, so you can go hands-free
at a tilt, but again, that’s just one more piece of equipment that you have to have stored
somewhere.
So I came up with this, in combination. So I have the Trent Grabbit on the back and I
bought a knock-off iPad cover for the front side that does have that magnetic switch to
turn your iPad on and off when you open it and close it.
The other great thing is you can leave the Grabbit on the back and you can use this to,
you know, have set at your desk so that your iPad is at a tilt so you can do your typing.
You can leave it on at the same time; and of course, it easy to take off and put back
on.
So this is what I’m doing to cover up my iPad in my classroom.
