Ok I’m with Tom Preece, it’s an absolute pleasure to always be talking to Tom at the
PGA Show. Tom this is the AMP Cell fairway wood and I really like the concept here of
3/4 and 5/7. Explain to the viewers what you’ve got here. Well the AMP Cell fairway is just
like the AMP Cell drivers, they feature MyFly technology which is our adjustable loft technology.
So since we’re able to adjust loft, we can combine separate fairway woods into 2 models.
So we have a 3/4 wood that adjust from 13 to 16 degrees and a 5/7 wood that can be adjusted
from 17 to 20 degrees. So no need to be buying a 4 wood and a 7 wood. That’s right. You
can just buy the 2 clubs and set the lofts to suit you. It’s difficult to know exactly
what fairway wood you need to buy because you want to fill the gap typically between
your driver and your longest playable iron or your hybrid and you don’t know how far
each fairway wood is going to go. With this we kind of take that risk away from the buying
process. You can buy a 3/4 or a 5/7 and you can adjust the loft up or down to fill you
distance gasp accordingly. Well one trip to the practice range and you’ve got your distance
gapping set up and you can adjust the loft to suit you, and away you go. And we also
have an app online. It’s called the FitNFly. You go to CobraGolf.com and you can download
the FitNFly app. And with the app, you tell the app your driver distance and your longest
iron distance and it’ll tell you, it’ll recommend to you, based on your game, the
fairway woods that you should try and the loft settings you should try them in. Fantastic,
and apart form that give us a little bit of an overview of the rest of the technology
in the club. It’s driver type construction so we use a thin, high strength steel face
that’s welded to a stainless steel body. That enables us to make the face very thin
and get higher ball speed. High COR, distance driven fairway wood because of the driver
type construction. We also have E9 face technology. That’s the technology that we utalise in
our drivers with Dual Roll. So we changed the roll radius on the top versus the bottom
of the club. That gives nice high launch with low spin for longer distance. So lots of different
things happening, totally different technology. It’s really improving. Are we getting to
a stage where technology is plateauing. Absolutely not. A lot of people think that but in our
AMP Cell driver testing we fit a lot of consumer and even though they had been fit into their
driver last year when we fit them into the appropriate AMP Cell driver they gained over
10 yards. Even over the driver they were fit into last year. So there’s still a lot of
distance to be had out there. Well you can’t have a better recommendation than that. Thanks
a million Tom for showing us the new AMP Cell fairway woods. Absolutely.
