IBC TVU
TVU develop products for delivering video content live from the field using mobile broadband
that allows people to be able to transmit without the added costs involved in satellite
technologies and also allows them to get into environments that they wouldn't other wise
be able to get with a satellite truck. The TVU product has recently been upgraded with
new versions of software creating ease of use in the field, journalists now have less
work to get the system up and running.
It's like a satellite truck in a backpack.
The pack delivers to a server back in the MCR or the facility. It decodes the video
back to SDI, and back to the router for transmission.
A recent development is the new TVU grid products. This is a system that lives in the clouds
and allows you to deliver from multiple backpacks all over the world delivering into a central
location, and then distributing that content to all your facilities all over the world
using low cost IP technology just a standard internet connection.
4G bandwidth is several times faster than 3g. You used to have to use a lot more sim
cards, but now you can use less networks with further reduces the costs deploying these
systems.
