So if you’re business owner
or sales department manager one of the things that's very tempting when it comes to
growing your business or doing business development is using price
as a mechanism to enhance or grow
your business volume one thing I remember about prices that prices poison lowering
price
to increase business are two opposite activities in fact
lowering price is one step closer to closing
your company price should be expanding not for the same product you should be
expanding your product lines you
should be adding elements to the products you sell
so that your price in your margin is increasing not getting lower
you can't price way into prosperity one of the reasons
that this tempting is many of your clients always wanna talk about price they want
to lower price
they wanna first go to price when you have a sales conversation usually that's
because
they don't know what else to talk about we’ll get into some sales techniques in
another video but
when it comes to price if your client is going right to price that you see
because
they don't know what else to make that conversation about so it’s up to your sales
staff
to really get into the features products benefits and understanding
what that client is looking for even before you get the price make price the
last thing you talk about a little story
about a company that I ran across but a decade ago a
little restaurant happen to be called the Green Pig the Green Pig was a great
restaurant had excellent food
the service is fantastic the people who work there were great had really low
prices
and I can remember when the company that that I work for the time we had people
go across the street to the Green Pig every day for lunch
saying enjoy it while it lasts because they keep a lower their prices they're not
gonna be able to make it and it was a shame because the Green Pig went out a
business
within a year for that reason if they had charged a higher price
for the excellent food and service that they had
they would still be in business they'd still be able to have an excellent
customer base
and do what they love to do presumably which is running a restaurant
instead they priced themselves into closing because they weren’t proud
of their prosperity and proud of their product so be careful on price
