I've always wanted to interview you because.
I've wanted to tell you for years how you've ruined my life.
Oh.
Yeah I could be late for important meetings.
Something dastardly important.
At Notting Hill or love actually on TV or something I have to sit
and watch it in its entirety.
I don't know what it is.
Oh that's nice.
Except for having a DVD already but I still feel I have to watch
it all the way through.
I'm just a huge fan of it.
Are you secretly a woman Chuck?
No but I've been told I'm half woman.
I don't know what that means exactly.
From the waist down.
Yes closet crier.
This character is so far over the top.
It bordered on.
Let me ask you.
How did you know if you're going too far over the top?
Ahhh.
You don't
I think the idea in this film was to go right
to the edge actually.
That's what Paul likes he likes to go to places
where you really shouldn't go.
And dare to be there and it's fun.
People are always kissing up Martin.
In the film.
Now as a celebrity do you find that there are more
kiss ups than there and not kiss ups?
Yes.
Really?
Yes.
How do you feel when people do that?
I love it.
Really?
The more the merrier.
(laughs)
I don't know of I get bored of it you don't know if people are
real or fake being in the public eye.
Yet it really doesn't bother me so long as they're
really nice to me.
Exceptionally nice doesn't even bother me at all.
(laughs)
Now are you familiar with Simon from Pop Idol
he did that in England first didn't he?
Correct yes.
I hadn't seen very much of it but I knew it was.
I think it was a clever stunt to pull off brutal honesty.
Very good television.
And what a fascinating place to end up in.
Once you have that reputation for being this
monster that everybody hates.
Or loves to hate.
What a fascinating place to be in in your life.
You can do anything.
You carry this charisma always have danger around with you.
I think everybody's a critic in everything they do.
You either like movies, are you a fan of pop music at all?
No I'm pathetic on music.
I literally have no music in my life.
(laughs)
Nor in my soul.
Nothing?
There's nothing you throw on?
Very little actually.
Very little.
I listen books on CD when I'm in my car.
Music tends to make me sad.
Oh really?
Yeah.
I couldn't live without music.
No I know.
It's ridiculous for me to play this part.
Even more ridiculous uneven playing one
right now where I'm actually a pop star.
you're kidding.
Now in the movie Simon draw a fast car.
Give a fast car are you kind of a low-key type of guy?
Im afraid I do have a fast car.
I've had a succession of fast cars.
I look like a complete *** in them.
I look like a middle-aged man with too much money.
But I can't stop getting them.
Really?
Yeah I had an Astin that Breaking
down in the middle road.
And everyone would laugh at me.
And you'd be standing on the side of the
road and people would hear
Yeah problem is I have these gears and when they seize up.
You can't even push it to the side of the road.
You're literally there in the middle of the busy road.
And all the people were going past to laughing at you.
Enjoying the fact that your expensive car is broke.
Every time I pick up a magazine with an article but you.
You're always talking about how bored you are.
Or as an actor you're tired.
Do you get tired of seeing that?
Yes I should have never said any of that.
Really?
I'd like to delete all that.
We never can believe anything you read it anyhow.
No quite.
But I have said that.
And I do look like a fool.
It's easily back like a bad penny.
While I'm glad for them every single time.
Well your nice.
Thank you so much.
