meet Philip
and Caleb
and Ezra
they all came from different places to study at Goshen College
and they all study informatics, but they have a lot of other interests too
Philip likes math and the viola, Ezra likes video production and Caleb is big into
biology and basketball. Informatics allows them to take all these different pieces,
and focus
by its definition, informatics becomes a practical solution to the program needs
of your area of study. At Goshen College, what used to be computer science,
is now informatics
it's the science of information; the process of creating, storing, finding
and sharing information
with informatics areas of focus ranging from biology to peace, justice, and conflict studies
studies, you can tailor your degree to fit your interests. But more than the
ability to combine disciplines, Goshen College allows for a unique level of
personal attention
this year's informatics class size was eight point three,
meaning if you have a question,
it'll probably get answered
and if you're looking for opportunities outside the classroom, Goshen has
those too
Ezra got involved in his first year with the campus radio and TV stations
stations that were named the best in Indiana. And, well Caleb's just around
the corner developing apps with professor Kent Palmer
and Phillip's programming mathematica software across campus
so when Ezra, Philip, and Caleb graduate,
they'll have the tools to connect their interests, backed by plenty of field experience
so whether it's programming at wednesday computing consortium,
developing a tape measure app for the iPhone,
or a meeting with a professor to work out a personalized, meaningful schedule,
Goshen College fosters a unique
and progressive environment
so scheduled visit, and check out Goshen's informatics department for yourself!
