STREETS FOR DANCING ONLY
Hello and welcome to Candy Trips.
I'm Melissa and we're in Kreuzkölln.
Today is the Carnival of the Cultures.
That's why this street
and all the others are closed off.
There's not so many people.
It's like a zombie apocalypse.
The Carnival of the Cultures
has been a Berlin event since 1997.
People of all nations are dancing.
We're speed dating. We just met.
People don't take me seriously without a mic.
Do you always sit outside?
We do, even in winter.
But you speak German?
Maybe not. What is this mix?
Alpha-Elix.
But this one tastes crap and this one too.
But the mix is gold.
Are you the Berlin duck?
Lots of shops are open and bands are playing.
I think it's a drinking game.
Whoever kicks over the bottle gets to drink,
while the other team has to put the bottle back.
The team who finishes their drinks first wins.
Half-naked guys play drunken handball.
Oh, wicked.
Drink, sissies, drink.
Columbia.
The anti-heroes.
We are the audience's float.
The Harbour Bar.
I'm Hassan from Berlin-Neukölln.
My unicorn is ringing.
I want a unicorn balloon, too.
Bye.
A moment of silence for city cleaners.
The sun is slowly setting and we're off home,
but I think Berlin will party until tomorrow
or the day after. Have you been to the Carnival?
If yes, did you like it or not?
And where should our next Candy Trip go?
Write me a comment.
Thanks for watching. See you!
