Alright this is the buddy system. If you're fishing with somebody, let's say one of you
falls in the ice. You want to be able to throw a rope or push a sled toward them to help
pull them out. One of the things you want to do is to tie a rope onto the sled or tie
a rope onto yourself and use yourself as leverage. On the other end of the rope you're going
to need to get some kind of a weight in order to get it out to your buddy who's in the water.
Don't panic. Take the time to tie a good knot. Use something like a knife or a knife case
or something and toss it out as far as you can to your buddy. Then you can pull them
in, staying a safe distance away on thick ice. Your buddy's hanging on to the end of
this rope and he's going to be very grateful by the time he gets back up onto that thick
ice.
