Hey everyone, Oliver here from The Silver Screen Directory and today I'm going to show
you how to Post a Production. Posting productions will make them show up
as a credit on your personal Listing, so that's a great way to build up your Resume, showcase
your previous work, and show all the projects that you have previously worked on.
Please know that any production that you list list on The Silver Screen Directory must have
at least one Writer and one Producer or Director credited.
To get started you have got to be logged in to our account on The Silver Screen Directory,
head over to POST, hover over Production, POST YOUR PRODUCTION.
Now if you already have one or more Screenplays posted, then those will show up on this page
right here. So if you wrote a screenplay, and now it is going into production, you are
going to select your screenplay from the list up here by clicking on it, and then you are
going to click on the button in the bottom right corner that says POST AS PRODUCTION.
But if the production you want to post is not listed as a screenplay yet, then you just
want to click on POST A NEW PRODUCTION right here at the top.
And this will then take you to the form, which looks pretty similar to all those "post your
personal listing" forms. Note the different tabs at the top, as usual, that allow you
to enter information from different categories. So today what we are going to do, it's going
to be a finished production, our movie has been released and we are posting it here to
keep a record of it so that everyone can see it and we can get it as a credit on our listing.
Our Movie is called "I Remember Yesterday" but it might be more familiar to some people
with a different project title. It's a short film, and it has been released
in the year 2010. Then we have a text box that asks for a detailled
project description. So here what you want to write in is things about the project and
the making of the project... Like this production that we are working on here has been made
with the help of a senior center, so I'm talking a little bit about the non-profit character
and the community involvement of the project. You'll have a separate fields later to enter
information about the Story of the movie, so no need to talk about the plot in this
section... The next step is to chose our picture from
the files that we have on the computer here - especially for a completed production you
probably want to use the film poster, or DVD cover, or something like that, which is exactly
what I am going to do right now... And then you can chose a few privacy settings
for your Listing down here, but right now I want to be able to communicate with strangers
who might come across this listing, so I'm not going to check any of those boxes.
Alright, then we'll move on to the next section - and that's where we can add credits.
That's the most fun part actually, the most important part about this new feature that
just came out actually, because like I said your production is going to allow people to
be credited so that they have it on their listings and everything...
Again: To post a production you need a writer and a producer or director credited. So we
are now going add a director's credit first here. Search for the director by name, my
name, search for Oliver, find it, Click on the listing to highlight it, select the exact
position, and then click add to credits. We'll do the process again for a writing credit.
This time I am searching for my screenwriter Listing here... And add to credits once again.
Exact same process. Okay, then let's also add an actress here.
Denene was starring in this movie. So we'll search for her name, we'll find her here...
Actress... add to credits. Bam, simple as that.
And while we are at it, I am also going to select a producer.
Pull up my producer listing. Add to credits once again. Exact same process.
Now if you want to delete a credit just click on it, it'll be highlighted, click the link
below that says remove all selected listings, and it'll be gone.
Now in case the person we want to credit does not have a listing on The Silver Screen Directory
yet, or you just can't find them, we can still add their credit. So you are going to click
on "add new", typein their name and their email address, once again select the title
they've held for this production, verify that everything is, and then click add to credits.
Now what we did with that is, we pretty much added a placeholder credit for someone who's
listing is not posted yet. Adding their credit will send them an email with a link where
they can claim their credit. Alright then, next section. Let's add some
story details to our listing. A brief synopsis, a plot summary, and a more detailed description
of the story, possibly like the topics dealt with, or the message your story is going to
convey. Of course you probably don't want to give, like, any spoilers in there, but
that's up to you I guess... Also we are going to be able to select the
genres here that our story falls into. And once we reviewed all our information,
we can scroll down and click on "create listing" If we did everything right, we will now see
our Listing... So obviously we see everything we have entered
here or most of it for now, in the BETA version... But let's look at how our credits came along...
So the Writer, and producer credits are right there, but our Actress still needs to accept
her credit... She needs to make sure that she really was part of this production and
that she wants it shown on her Listing. The placeholder credit that we added for the
person who was not find listed on The Silver Screen Directory has a purple banner here.
So when we click on it we'll get the option to chose from all our already posted listings
that are eligible for this credit, or we can post a new listing of course. Select which
one is appropriate, and click on Claim this credit.
Now the person who posted the production now needs to say "yes, it's okay to replace the
placeholder with this listing". So that's what I'm doing right here, I'm clicking
on Approve and Accept under Settings, I see Oliver wants to be credited as Director on
I Remember Yesterday, and it is replacing the placeholder credit. Then I'm going to
go to "approve and replace" and then the placeholder will be gone and my Listing will be there
instead. Now like I said our actress here needs to
do the same, she needs to say "yea, please accept this credit and show it on my listing"
and it will show up right there. I hope that makes sense to you... Now you
should know how to post a production, how to add credits to it, and how to claim and
approve and accept placeholder credits. Hope you like this new feature.
And I look forward to seeing all the awesome projects that you have worked on posted on
The Silver Screen Directory. Let's work on a exciting, new project, togther!
