Hello and welcome to Hildegard's subtlety rogue keybind and macro guide.
Our topic today is macros.
During the first video I explained rogue stances and if you didn't watch it
and don't know about rogue stances, yet, you should definitely check it out.

Ok, at this point you should also have defined what your keybinds will look like.

The macro section is the step to make the binds we have in the spreadsheet work ingame.
Let's start with the basics. Just a very small
thing about stances.
You still remember stance:0 is normal, not stealthed, stance:1 is stealth
stance:2 is Vanish when playing Assasination and Combat and you should
never include it into Subtlety macros.
Stance:3 is Shadow Dance.
After stances, we have targets for macros. You can use macros to target skills
at certain targets. Without adding something a macro will use your current target.
You can add @focus, @player, @party1, @party2, @arena1-3, @mouseover
and any given player name.
@replaces target= so your macros will need a lot less space.
Next is modifiers. The following macro you can see on the screen is an example
and you shouldn't use that. It's just to make a point.
Let's assume you put this macro on A as a hotkey - pressing A will cast Feint.
Pressing alt + A will cast Evasion
Pressing ctrl + A will cast Sprint and pressing shift + A will cast Cloak of Shadows.
It's important to include the nomod part if you use a modifier macro.
Also make sure you don't bind something to shift/ctrl/alt + A or the macro will not trigger the skill.
Usually I go over my keybinds and unbind close to everything.
I will cover the steps to create the actual binds for a new character in the last video.
In this one we will write the macros needed.
In the fourth video I will talk about skill chains,
means about things that need to be close in order to be effective.
Okay, we covered stances, we covered targets, we covered modifiers.
There is another neat option called combat as you can see on the screen
the following macro
will use Backstab if you are in stance:0 and you are in combat.
If you get out of combat and press it you will get stealthed
and once you are stealthed the macro fires Ambush.
I use this in my binds with Cheap Shot and Garrote
both are Stealth in stance:0
and will cheap shot or garrote instantly once I'm stealthed.
Now we have stances, modifiers, the combat option and targets.
We can start combining.
I will go over my own binds to explain how I go from the spreadsheet to the actual macros.

Let's take a look at the key 1.
Pressing 1 does a lot of things.
stance:0 with no modifier is Stealth
stance:0 with alt is Hemorrhage; stance:0 with ctrl is Shadowdance into Garrote
stance:0 with shift is Shadow Dance into Focus Garrote
stance:1/3 nomodifier Garrote; stance:1/3 alt is Hemorrhage
stance:1/3 ctrl is Garrote
and stance:1/3 with shift is Focus Garrote
This more text than we have for one macro, which is
255 letters. I simply removed Hemorrhage and ended up with exactly 255 letters.
