American radio DJs gave the staff from the Voice of Fallujah
a crash course in radio business. Specialist Ian Morales reports.
[Morales] The class covered business techniques, spot production,
and how to attract advertisers to use the radio station
to promote their products and services. [through interpreter]
One of the good things I learned is how to maintain and attract audience
and how to market and advertise for the radio station
to attract more and more audience in the future. I would love a tour of the radio station.
>>Okay. [Morales] The Voice of Fallujah also received
support from Provincial Reconstruction Team Anbar,
giving them the logistical support to grow and bring a positive light on the region and
eventually Iraq as a whole. [through interpreter] They gave us a new transmitter.
We used to transmit at 500 watts. Now we have a 3,000-watt transmitter.
