With Privacy Eraser Pro, you can edit Typed URL. Choosing this option will cause this
list to be erased. Erases Locked Index.dat Files Which stores information about what
web sites you have visited and what cookies have been saved. The index.dat files are always
LOCKED during a Windows session and can not be deleted. Privacy Eraser Pro erases these
files during a reboot before they become locked. After Windows has restarted, new files are
automatically created with the same name but they contain no data. Please note: 1. Be sure
that your user account has administrator rights and also install and run Privacy Eraser Pro
seperately under each user account. 2. In order for this option to be effective, you
will need to restart Windows after cleaning. We recommend you use Clean & Reboot for this
option. Erase AutoComplete Forms Data Erases the AutoComplete Forms data stored
by Internet Explorer. Please note that erasing AutoComplete Forms data will erase all entries
typed into Internet Explorer Forms that are currently automatically recalled by Internet
Explorer after you type a few letters of a word. For example, email log ins currently
remembered by your browser will be erased from the AutoComplete memory. Please note:
Be sure that your user account has administrator rights and also install and run Privacy Eraser
Pro seperately under each user account. Erase AutoComplete Passwords Erases the AutoComplete
Passwords data stored by Internet Explorer. Please note that erasing AutoComplete Passwords
data will erase all entries typed into Internet Explorer Password fields that are currently
automatically recalled by Internet Explorer when a password is needed. For example, email
and message board passwords currently remembered by your browser will be erased from the AutoComplete
Password memory. Erase Downloaded Program Files Directory This directory is where Internet
Explorer stores ActiveX and Java applets that have been downloaded from the web. Choosing
this option will instruct Privacy Eraser Pro to clean out this directory. Plug-Ins: Did
you know that many third party software keep track of recent user activities? Others can
also see what files you have accessed, what picture you have viewed, what media you have
played, and much more. Removing these stored activities will further help protect your
privacy. With Privacy Eraser Pro's free plug-ins, you can easily erase the tracks of popular
applications. We currently offer more than 200 plug-ins which supports the most popular
programs such as ACD See, Acrobat, Microsoft Office, KaZaA Media Desktop, Morpheus, ICQ
2002, MSN Messenger, WinZip, PowerDVD, RealOne Player, Media Player and many other applications.
Privacy Eraser Pro's plug-ins are files with .pe extensions containing lists of tasks Privacy
Eraser Pro will run on each plug-in. Click the Refresh button you can have Privacy Eraser
Pro to detect any new plug-ins in default plug-ins folder, and you will see the new
plug-ins in the Plug-Ins Tab.
File Shredder {{Pause=1}} File Shredder is a small utility that will completely erase
the contents of sensitive files and folders that you specify. When you delete a file from
Windows, Windows just mark the file as deleted in file allocation table, but the data of
the file is still in your hard disk, there are many tools available which can let others
easily recover your sensitive files. File Shredder using Security Options to completely
overwrites the contents of a file and then deletes it. To shred files or folders just
simply drag them to the File Shredder in the same way you would the Recycle Bin. Please
Note: Folders/Files selected for shredding can not be recovered using an undelete program.
The purpose of File Shredder is to completely remove sensitive files and their contents
from you disk drive. Once a file has been shredded it can not be recovered using sophisticated
file restoration utilities.
Cleaning Free Space The free space on disk usually contains the contents of the files
that were previously deleted using standard Windows system commands. If you directly delete
files in Windows explorer, even you can not see them, the deleted files (not deleted by
Privacy Eraser Pro with Security Options), are still on your disk, others can recover
them using some recovery tools. If you want to ensure them will not be recovered by any
recovery tools, the operation will enable you using Security Options to permanently
remove all the data on the free space on your disk drives.
Advanced Options Load Privacy Eraser Pro at Windows Startup
If the Load Privacy Eraser Pro at Windows Startup option is checked, Privacy Eraser
Pro load automatically every time when Windows startup. Start Privacy Eraser Pro in System
Tray If the Start Privacy Eraser Pro in System tray option is checked, Privacy Eraser Pro
starts minimized to your system tray at the lower right of your screen.
AutoClean at Windows Started If the AutoClean at Windows Started option is checked, once
Privacy Eraser Pro detects that the Windows is started, it will run erasing. AutoClean
at Windows Shutdown If the AutoClean at Windows Shutdown option is checked, once Privacy Eraser
Pro detects that the Windows is shutting down, it will run erasing. Important Note: AutoClean
only works when Privacy Eraser Pro is running, so leave Privacy Eraser Pro running as you
work at your computer. Security Options Overwrite all bytes of file with character zeros This
option will cause Privacy Eraser Pro to write character zeros to the entire file. Overwrite
all bytes of file with character ones This option will cause Privacy Eraser Pro to write
character ones to the entire file. Overwrite all bytes of file with random numbers
This option will cause Privacy Eraser Pro to write random numbers to the entire file.
Overwrite times This option sets the number of times to use the above erasing methods
on the file. Each overwrite above represents one pass of erasing, combined each overwrite
option would actually be 3 overwrites. The US Department of Defense recommends 3 overwrites,
NSA recommends 7 overwrites. So if you have checked all overwrite options, this number
should be considered times 1 or 3 (i.e. 1 would actually be 3 passes with different
overwrite methods). Reset file size to zero bytes This option will cause Privacy Eraser
Pro to reset the file size to zero length. Scramble file/folder name
This option will cause Privacy Eraser Pro to rename the file/folder name to random name
before delete it. For example, the rename of "abc.txt" would be to "F9745CD89Q8.tmp".
Important Note: The more times you set to overwrites the file, the longer the erasing
cycle will take. Usually, the default 1 times (3 passes) is enough. Privacy Eraser Pro implements
the US Department of Defense DOD 5220.22-M and NSA clearing and sanitizing standard,
to gives you confidence that once deleted with Privacy Eraser Pro, your file data is
gone forever and can not be recovered. Schedule Options With Schedule Options, you can schedule
cleaning task run at a time that is most convenient for you. With Schedule Options, you can also
Schedule your cleaning task to run every selected number of minutes, hours, daily, weekly, monthly,
or at certain times. Change the schedule for your cleaning task.
Important Note: Schedule Options only works when Privacy Eraser Pro is running, so leave
Privacy Eraser Pro running as you work at your computer. Cleaning Action Settings When Privacy Eraser
Pro running in System Tray mode, you can use Privacy Eraser Pro without opening main window,
just simply pressing below shortcut keys. Privacy Eraser Pro can also allow you customize
shortcut key. Stealth Mode Lets Privacy Eraser Pro to operate
in an invisible mode. In Stealth Mode, Privacy Eraser Pro will not show an icon on the system
tray, but it can still work in the background. Boss Mode Lets you to instantly hide and restore
the applications (windows) on your screen in order to prevent uninvited persons from
seeing them and to protect your sensitive information. Internet Explorer Homepage Restore You can
use this to reset the Internet Explorer Window Title to default. Blank Page You can use this
to reset the homepage to blank page. Internet Explorer AutoComplete Microsoft Internet Explorer
5 and later includes an integrated feature called AutoComplete, which helps users quickly
enter information into form fields. When a user submits a form, the name, value, and
domain of the form component are encrypted for safekeeping. Storing the information helps
users to complete single-line text fields. You can use the Internet Explorer AutoComplete
Settings to enable or disable the AutoComplete feature for forms and addresses, specify whether
to include passwords when information is saved, and prompt you to save passwords. To erase
the existing data store, please checked Erase AutoComplete Forms Data and Erase AutoComplete
Passwords options in Internet Explorer Options. Internet Explorer AutoFind Attempts to connect
to a Web server by passing the specified query through completion templates. You can edit
