Hi, I’m Laura from Close To My Heart. Today on
Artbooking Made Easy I’m going to show you some fun
things that you can do with our school themed keys
from the new Artbooking Cartridge to make cute back
to school layouts. Let’s take a look at these works
of art. While both keys have a school theme, you
don’t have to use both to create one layout. In
fact, one key is designed to make one layout. For
this layout I’ve used the calendar shape, seen
here. I’ve turned it upside down so that I have a
title space along the bottom. Usually you’d put a
month along the top but since we’ve turned it
around we’ve used that same space at the bottom.
Set that aside, and I’ll show you what it looks like 15 00:00:50 --> 00:00:543 when it’s used traditionally. So here is the same
calendar overlay used as a calendar page. So the
month is at the top and each of the dates are
filled in in the squares. As you can see though, we
haven’t put dates in the squares in this overlay.
We’ve filled them with colorful paper for a mosaic
background. And I’d like to show you some of the
other pieces that you can use with this key. Each
key contains a title as you can see here, it’s
“First Day” and you can cut out the title twice and
offset it so that it creates a little shadow look.
And then there’s a smaller overlay that we’ve used
here on this layout and a larger overlay that we
just talked about. Also there are various photo
mats, borders, and journaling squares, which I’m
going to show you right here. So we’ve used this
journaling square as an accent but as you can see
there is plenty of space to use to write down
whatever you may need to on your layout. And
instead of using just this piece by itself, we’ve
actually cut it out twice and used the other end,
trimmed it off, and backed it so that the phrase
piece of art. Okay. This layout right here features
shows up a little bit better. The overlay on this
layout is a nine square grid. Instead of using it
to determine what pattern we’re going to use for
this, it’s been filled in with photos and
journaling, title pieces, and a top border with
accents. Let’s talk about some of the other pieces
with this key. We’ve got a title piece here; we’ve
got various photo mats and border pieces. So this
is what the top border right here looks like. It’s
not filled in but we’ve just slapped it right on
the page to add a little bit of interest to the
top. So now you can see one layout using one school
themed key and another layout using the other
school themed key. But I’d like to show you how you
can combine both keys to create your own original
some of the icons used on this. For example, the
apple icon, we’ve used the layer as well to create
a geometric design instead of just an accent and in
addition we've used the same number borders but instead
of just putting the number border on as is
it’s been backed with various colors to make it
show up a little bit better and to add some more
color and interest. And this other page of the
layout features pieces from the first school themed
key and that includes this days of the week overlay
that we talked about earlier. And also I don’t know
if you can tell, but here along the edge we’ve used
here and also the notes accent or journaling square
this paper border here for a hip twist on this
idea. Back to school papercrafting is so easy with
the Artbooking cartridge. I love how all of the
elements from just two keys can come together to
create beautiful projects and look entirely
different. Subscribe to our YouTube channel, follow
