The University at Buffalo is a great place to go to school. The Department has a rich history in the field of earthquake engineering.
[Andrew Whittaker speaking] The department was home to the first national earthquake engineering research center known as NCEER back in the mid-1980s
and that program evolved into the multidisciplinary center for earthquake engineering research in the mid-1990s.
So, the university has been home to a National Science Foundation funded earthquake engineering research center for over 20 years.
I like that it is a big school really [Greg, Civil Engineering speaking] and the engineering community itself is really nice.
UB, it's really big [A. Scott Weber speaking], but that's good because we do big projects in civil engineering and environmental engineering.
So we have a world class faculty, [John from Structural Engineering speaking] world-class facilities at a great value.
I like UB a lot, [Yihui from Civil Engineering speaking] because here it is a great opportunity for me to meet all these top class professors
The best thing about UB? [Jose from Structural Engineering speaking] The professors and the research facilities.
What drew me to engineering the most [Kelly from Environmental Engineering speaking] was the environmental aspect of it but once I decided on engineering I knew UB was the place I was going to go.
The best thing about UB is we're going to train you to think about problems of the future, and give you the tools you need to make a contribution to society.
And help solve those problems. We're going to do that in a family type atmosphere where the faculty care about students,
where the students are incredibly gifted in their pursuit of academic excellence.
And we do that not only in the classroom but through a wide-range of project based activities and club-based activities.
UB is a great place. Worth coming. Seriously!
