This is a demo video about how to make a math video using a
tablet PC with Windows Journal that I am going to post to
YouTube so that my students can watch it when they're
stuck with homework.
I'm using Camtasia 5 for the screen capture, and I'm doing
a full screen capture.
So let's get Windows Journal opened up first.
And I like to use the Windows Journal if I'm doing graphing
problems, because it has a nice graph that I can use.
So when it comes up with the default setting here, just go
to File, Page setup.
And for style I'm going to choose instead of college
ruled, I want to have the large grid.
And that will give me a nice background grid
that's not too dark.
And I want to go ahead and draw my axes in there.
And you can make an axes template document, which would
probably be a good thing for me to have.
But seeing how I don't have that, I'm just going to draw
it in freehand.
1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
So we'll just goes about 5 to 5.
And let's say we're doing a problem y
equals 2x for our students.
So we go ahead and say 0, 0; 1, 2; ; 2, 4, and make a line
through it.
Now, I'm doing this out pretty quick, because I just wanted
to get a short video that won't take too long to produce
at YouTube, just to have it there as a sample.
And there we go.
This is a Windows Journal graphing document.
So now, I'm going to stop the recording and I will choose to
produce in a shareable format when that
choice is given to me.
And I'm going to put in the format of .mov, which is a
QuickTime movie.
And size 640 by 480, and that'll look great once it
gets up onto YouTube.
