Day in Day out
They scream They shout
Every 11 seconds A life goes out
Death comes to us all But for some, it's too soon
I'm afraid there's simply Not enough room
That sound you hear It tolls for thee
The reaper has come And keeps coming, you see
With each note that is played Goodnight is said
To a shelter animal Once living.....now dead
Millions each year It's hard to fathom
You can't wrap your brain Around such a chasm
But 11 seconds, ah yes Now that you can grasp
A tangible feeling An impact that lasts
My goal here is simple I want you to feel
The lives being lost The pain, it is real
To put it in terms Easier to relate
Think of YOUR pet Ending up with this fate
Think of them lying In a gas chamber
Crying for you As their breathing labors
The reaper has come For your pet this time
Your precious angel Is no different you'll find
Than these shelter pets All looking for love
They just want a family A couch or a rug
Each one is special In their own way
And each one is dying Dying today
There is a solution To end this genocide
Get your pets fixed And adopt, never buy
Only then will the seconds Be counted as blessings
11 seconds will pass
No more bell
How refreshing
