Eight or nine grand a month between three people plus expenses isn't a whole lot; forty
or fifty that gives you some cushion. How did you guys grow so quickly?
Adii: I don't know. A lot of people have asked me how we kind of grew the company initially
and ... again, this is way before I know about ... kind of what I know about online marketing
or just general kind of marketing now. I think two of the things that kind of standout or
three things even, one is I think we had a superior product. It took everyone else at
least 18 to 24 months to actually catch up and have a product that was on par with ours.
That had that kind of organic ... influence on growing revenues.
The two other things ... one was very much on purpose was we did a lot of referral marketing
back then and I can't remember in about year or two referral marketing peaked so that it
generates about 40% of our revenue. That's where it peaked before it started tapering
off. We actually killed it last year. That's how much tapered off over the years. That
drove a lot of kind of traction initially.
Then the weird thing and I think this is probably the best in terms of buzz words and the basic
growth like ever but we never intended it to be, was on all the things we included our
credit link with our logo and it said "Designed by WooThemes" at the bottom. We made it easy
for you to switch it off and don't display it but it was opt out. I can remember that
we got so much link glove and kind of incoming links from that and we weren't measuring at
all side. I don't know how much in terms of sales that actually drove. The fact that [inaudible

Google algorithms really like those incoming links. I think between those three things
that's what drove revenues for the first two or three years.
