Have you ever wondered how to teach your child to use the toilet? Hi, my name's Dr. Donna,
with a little advice on how to do it. First thing you want to do is your todd, your toddler
will give you signs when they're ready to do it. They'll talk about it. They'll want
to read books about it. They'll look at videos, there's a lot of them out there. There's a
lot of excellent ones that use Elmo and and other characters. They'll see other children
doing it. They'll talk about it. They'll want to be a part of this big grown up experience.
Most important thing is, don't push. Let them tell you and encourage themselves to do it
when they are ready. Other thing you can do is let them watch their siblings do it, or
if you feel comfortable, let them watch you. Also, go to the store and buy a potty seat,
a portable potty. Let them be a part of that experience. Buy big girl ***, big boy
***. And also the pull-up diapers. Remember accidents are going to happen. Don't get all
upset about it. It can be a process that can be quite enjoyable if you allow it to. Don't
push your child into doing it. Let them tell you when. Also, remember that when it comes
time to do it, don't scold them. Let them take their time. Let them sit on the toilet.
This is Dr. Donna with telling you how to teach your child how to potty train. Good
luck.
