Hey everyone! In this video I'm going to show you how to make filigree tassel earrings!
You'll need sewing thread, two filigree discs, two earring hooks, 12 jump rings, thin jewelry wire, a fork, scissors
and two jewelry pliers of your choice.
Grab your fork and hold it with the curvy side up.
Place the sewing thread over the fork where the teeth begin and hold the thread with your thumb.
Leave a little tail out, fold it underneath the fork and hold it with your middle finger.
Now wrap your thread around the fork. And again and again [laughs] and again.
Make sure you keep the thread close together and wrap it around your fork 100 times.
[music]
Carefully slide the thread down the fork a little bit, just to loosen it.
Now cut off a piece of jewelry wire and stick it through the last opening of your fork.
Go underneath your thread and go back up on the other side. Bring both ends over
the thread and pull together. Do this a couple of times.
[music]
Cut the ends of your sewing thread.
Now get one of your jump rings and open it using your jewelry pliers.
Slide your soon-to-be-tassel off the fork and stick the jump ring through the top loop of thread.
I find it easiest to hold one end of the jump ring with pliers and to push it into the beginning
of the loop and to then just hold it with my fingers to get it all the way through.
You need to do this very quickly, before the top loop fans out, because then it
becomes nearly impossible to get the jump ring through. Close the jump ring.
Wrap more of the wire around the top part of your soon-to-be-tassel and make it
tight! Make sure you go high up and press the ends down.
[music]
Once that's done, stick one end of your scissors through the bottom loop and cut.
If you missed a few little loops, make sure you cut those too.
Now you have a beautiful tassel! Okay, we need more tassels! 11 more to be exact.
So go ahead and make 11 more tassels in the exact same way.

You should have 12 tassels now.
Get your filigree discs and look at where you want to position your tassels.
Filigree has lots of holes, so it shouldn't be a problem to attach them.
Just make sure your jump rings fit through the holes. Some materials can
easily be manipulated to make the holes a little bigger, others can't. I'm gonna
place my tassels oround the bottom of my disc. Carefully open the jump ring of
your tassel, push it through one of the holes and close it.
I wanted a tight fit so that my tassels would still move naturally, but there
wouldn't be a big gap between the filigree and the tassels. That's why
I chose small jump rings, but of course that makes extra tricky to attach them to
the filigree and to make sure none of the thread slips off while attaching it.
Close the jump ring well and attach all of your other tassels as well.

Once you're done, attach the earring hook by opening it with pliers, sticking it
through a hole of your filigree disc and closing it.
Do the same things for your other earring.

And this is what the finished earrings look like! Perfect for summer!
I hope you enjoyed this video. Thank you so much for watching!
