Hey everybody, this is David Ginn, and today is my 53rd birthday. So, to honor this momentous
occasion, I wanted to do a birthday challenge. So, I've been racking my brain for a couple
of weeks now, trying to figure out what it is I might want to do. So, 2 or 3 days ago,
I decided that I will, in one minute try to do 53 push ups.
That's my birthday challenge for this year, and I invite you to join me in that challenge
or a challenge of your own. Ahm, so whether you're 25, 35, 45, 55, whatever, in 1 minute
try to do 1 pushup for every year you've been on this planet. OK?
Now, I'll be honest with you. I don't think I'm going to be able to do it today. I've
not been practicing, and if I don't, you know, that's OK because we'll come back here again
next month and the month after, and the month after that if necessary until I get it right.
I've got a year to, you know, accomplish this challenge. It doesn't have to be today. It'd
be cool if it would be, but I don't know, we'll see.
I mean, that what a challenge is suppose to be anyway. It's suppose to be something that
you're not sure if you can do or not. Otherwise, it really wouldn't be a challenge, would it.
Now, I'm not talking about, you know, little cheat pushups. Pushups with lousy form where
you don't go all the way down and you don't come all the way up. Where you let your hips
sag into the floor. I'm talking about bending your elbows 90 degrees, coming all the way
back up. Hands not too wide because, you know, wide pushups are a little easier. Trying to
keep your hips in line and, you know, just a good quality pushup. That's what we're after.
So, I guess I'm procrastinating now -- so let's get to it. Shall we?
I'm
a
little nervous!
