So next you'll need to get yourself a nice supply of painter's tape or artist tape, whichever
works best for you. And the reason for this is you want tape that doesn't have a strong
bonding of an adhesive, as any other type of tape especially masking tape or scotch
tape even. None of those tapes really tend to work well when you are trying to get this
professional look. Basically what these tapes are for is to frame off and border off on
your illustration board or whatever surface you are working on the piece so that when
you finish you can cut away and remove the tape and have a nice clean border. And also
sometimes you might maybe want to border off a piece with inside of the piece and you always
want to have tape that is easily removed, it doesn't rip up the paper. So artist tape
usually is white, you can get that at an art supply store. But I actually kind of tend
to use this blue painters tape. You can get these at hardware stores in the painting supply
department. They are the least strong bonding adhesives so they tend to lift up easier on
the surface. You also want to have just a supply of q-tips and I'll get into that later
why you need to use those more but they are for cleaning up and for making things a little
more professional.
