This friday at last the football championship of Europe is starting, then the ball will roll through Ukraine and Poland.
Of course everybody's talking about football.
That's why last weekend we went to the countries accepting EURO2012
to see how are their citizens feeling about this, which problems they have and what do they do.
Today Sven Lorih is in Kyiv the Ukrainian capital.
Recent weeks brought a lot of political disturbances.
Of course foreign countries are concerned about corruption and human rights violations.
We wanted to understand all this by ourselves.
Sven Lorih met some people who resist the despotism.
In the afternoon I've got an appointment with Rostyslav Shaposhnikov.
Young lawyer heads an organization called the Road Control
He fights for the drivers' rights.
But what for?
The majority of our traffic police officers are bandits who are foraged blackmailing, bribery and violence, looking for opportunities to profit.
But the state government does not stop it.
Nobody controls the traffic police officers.
If we don't stop them, nobody does it for us.
The camera is the activists' weapon.
Here are some examples of the abuse of power.
unreasonable stoppage,
violence...
Rostyslav regularly publishes such an incidents on the internet.
And suits the government.
In this manner he made an enemies for himself.
Not so long ago Rostyslav was beaten by the group of unknown persons.
This happened in march.
Nevertheless, he didn't let himself to be frightened.
I'm not scared.
I am aware of the danger.
But if I show that I am afraid they would win.
This won't happen.
I'd like to compare the real traffic police officers with that I've seen on video and heard.
Let's try to get answer from them.
You are not tourists!
You understand russian!
You're provoking me!
Speak ukrainian!
It's prohibited!
Leave the roadway!
We didn't have more luck with other traffic police officers.
All of them seeing us took off... To patrol the city, I guess.
