#2 ... Win the Day
My son has a t-shirt that reads 'win the day'. I'm not sure the origin of this theory but
I can't help relating it to being a recreational athlete. I've learned that the weaker the
competition the more inclined I am to lose my focus, become bored & play carelessly ... and
with conditions like that I risk losing the game or match. Why? Because my heart's just
not in it.
However when facing stronger competition adrenalin kicks in, concentration rises and I make more
of an effort thus elevating my level of play ... & increasing my chances of winning.
So it is also with life ... when there isn't anything to get you revved up about from the
daily drudgery ... rather than flatline & become complacent that's the time to challenge yourself
... stretch in a new direction, strive to make an improvement, learn a new skill or
adopt a different behaviour.
Those are the days that are perfect for 'trying out something new'. And the more you practice
the greater the likelihood of it sticking & you 'winning the day'. Why? Because you
made an effort to live it with heart. Today's a great day to practice ... Stay Well
