Glenn Greenwald at the intercept is reporting that the NSA is using social
media in order to spy on us now that's something that you probably already
suspected was happening but they're doing so
by pretending to be Facebook's servers now according to the intercept
in some cases the NSA has masqueraded as a big
Facebook server using the social media site as a launching pad to infect the
target's computer
and export trade files from a hard drive
I and others it has sent out spam emails laced with the malware
which can be a tailored to covertly record audio
this is what scares me the most from a computer's microphone and take snapshots
from its webcam packing systems has also enabled the NSA to launch cyber attacks
by corrupting and disrupting file downloads
or denying access to Web sites now I i'm having here
I'm going to tell you surprising opinion if you want to sure you know that I'm
I guess NSA spying on all buses are I'm and I love the
revelations that going green wall and others have found the intercept an
earlier at The Guardian
I'm but this I can understand why a
we would want an essay to have this capability go
okay yeah the question is who they applied to
so if they have this capability in a founder
a terrorist the been Pakistan and a trick in with your Facebook account
and they find out where he's going to plant the bomb yada yada
that's clever intelligence tank I mean not to take
the phrase out of your book but owners a course like everyone's in favor of that
right people are not against the NSA having the technology or the capability
to do the spying on the right targets boy Edward snowed in and what Glenn
Greenwald is telling us right now
is that they are abusing that technology they're abusing that power
rain so I think that on Matt blaze actually put it perfectly he is a
surveillance
expert you said forget about how the NSA is intending to use it
how do we know it is working correctly and only targeting
who the NSA wants and even if it doesn't work correctly
which is itself a really dubious assumption how is it controlled
any again if we look at past stories regarding the NSA
their indiscriminately collecting information on us innocent Americans
no probable cause no reason to believe that were suspicious or doing anything
involved in terrorism
and it's absolutely ridiculous so do I think that they're abusing the power
when it comes to this particular technology
absolutely now look to be fair and accurate here
in the story we don't yet have evidence that they're using AES all-americans and
abusing it is senator
also to be fair and accurate your incredibly right
that in other programs a be instituted
they have abuse them and use them against innocent Americans
et cetera so is it likely that they are doing likewise here
use it's fair to say that is likely although we don't know for sure
so that's a problem with an essay depalma isn't that cool
promise how you use that tool in who use a yes they don't use it as a tool they
use it as a weapon
okay and many more towards a Phil Davis yes and no
in the case up the six %uh muslims that we're living abroad I mean this story
will
it always stay in the back of my mind because I think it's all relevant to
show you exactly how the NSA works right
so there were six Muslims abroad and they were involved in a terrorist plot
however they were accused by our government radicalizing people abroad
however they're very broad about defining what that means right
so as a result what they would do is they would spy on these muslims what
which is an American citizen by the way
and they would collect information about their *** viewing habits
why were they doing that because they wanted to discredit them
UK so that's the kinda stuff that I am
obviously 100 percent against an army you know scouring the internet
you know looking at people who are maybe stirring the pot questioning authority
absolutely that's what this is really use for I mean when you have people like
dianne feinstein
going on CNN and saying we're less safe today than we were two years ago
and then she goes on inside NSA spying is important to those keeping us safe
I mean the contradiction there is hilarious they're not keeping us safe
that's not what it's really about its all ***
and I hear you on that sister Anna and I will say look
once you build a cool the problem is human beings are going to want to abuse
it
and so you got to have an incredible amount of safeguards to make sure that
they don't do that
so for example when we were doing the warrantless wiretapping what we listen
on
phone sex here ok our troops not paris
but american citizens serving in Iraq we listen to all the private conversations
and we most especially listen to their phone sex girls the guys who are doing
the wiretapping found it amusing
and entertaining so yes once you build the to like this
is very likely that I'll get misuse so we have to be careful has an essay been
careful in the past
not remotely and so I with you that I am concerned
that they're going to use this for our purposes and if they do
not only can they look it through your webcam okay but let's say you covered up
your webcam
they can hear what you're saying inside the room is ridiculous and by the way
another problem with this and of course there's a possibility that Facebook is
lying
but Facebook claims that they had absolutely no idea this was going on
like I believe that like the company isn't gonna want the government
to have a server that that that's a fake facebook server right
so in the third I feel like they're so many little be uses already just by
looking at the surface of the story and I i just don't like how our privacy is
being violated
they don't like how politician sit back and let it happen unless it's happening
to them of course
and where can sit back and let it happen right that same Dianne Feinstein who was
positive then essay the spinal was
when she found out the intelligence agencies were spying on her
was lawyer David this speech you're a lifetime a 40-minute tirade
on the senate floor how dare you we met spy on that not us
she and Lindsey Graham are now asking for Brandon to resign as the head the
CIA
smectic you one final note on the NSA a
all that spying and naval all over the world not just on american citizens $300
million americans if I'm the bad guys et cetera but then
be wired happened to infiltrate all the computers
you can help to Malaysia's find 777
like is a giant plane missing you've seen ***
webcam sex you seen the phones heard the phone sex
you've got all this information that is entirely irrelevant unless of course you
may use against political opponents
which they have also in the past right but when
you need to find a gigantic plane apparently
book addresses I what plane now we can possibly find out how your understanding
they're spying on us because in the words and Dianne Feinstein
it's called keeping America safe by the way
that plane if they landed which at this point it looks like it might be possible
and but one of the places that it is the parameters within
is Pakistan if they landed and they want to use a plane
against us that would be an enormous terror threat
an essay where the *** are you
