Hi everyone. I'm Mark and welcome to Disney's Art of Animation Resort -- a brand-new resort
hotel here at Walt Disney World! This place is unique in so many ways. It's
our first resort designed primarily as a family suite hotel, sleeping up to 6.
It's also our first Value Plus resort, featuring interior carpeted corridors and creative dining.
And, it's the first Disney Resort themed entirely around our company's animation heritage. Here,
you'll feel like a character inside some of the best-loved stories of all time: Finding
Nemo, Cars, The Lion King, and The Little Mermaid. The story begins the moment you arrive.
So, let's begin over at Animation Hall. Inside the main lobby, we're immediately immersed
into the world of a Disney animator. Black-and-white concept sketches evolve into vibrant drawings
of beloved Disney characters. Bold brushstrokes of color guide us along the way right up to
the brilliant check-in desk. If you look closely, you'll see that even the Cast Member costumes
are unique. No two vests are exactly the same. Pixels and patterns point the way to the rotunda,
featuring a beautifully crafted chandelier composed of animation storyboards. The Pixel
Play Arcade draws families together, thanks to an inviting lounge area where parents can
sit and relax while their kids play. Across the hall is the Ink & Paint Shop with its
giant jars of colorful displays of merchandise. This is also the entrance to the resort dining
venue. Come on! Landscape of Flavors is the most creative food court here at the Walt
Disney World Resort. The color-coded dining rooms celebrate the beautiful scenery from
our four classic films. In addition, guests can design their own menu and customize their
food -- from pasta, salads and burgers to Mongolian barbecue and kid-sized desserts.
We've walked outside to one of my favorite spots at Disney's Art of Animation Resort
-- the Finding Nemo courtyard! Each of the four courtyards is unique -- in landscaping,
design, layout and color. Buildings serve as colorful backdrops, as well as provide
a visual transition from one storyline to the next. With 2,500 icons placed around the
resort, it's easy to stay immersed in this whimsical world throughout the entire vacation.
We're on our last stop of the tour in the new family suite. We're in the Finding Nemo
wing, so the room is decked out with fixtures and décor all designed to evoke characters,
scenes and settings from the film. There are three separate sleeping areas to accommodate
up to six people. There's a master bedroom with a queen-size bed and a master bath. In
the living room, there's a sofa that converts into a full-size bed. And in the dining room,
well, this table converts easily and quickly into a comfy bed! Plus, there's another full
bathroom and a kitchenette with a refrigerator and microwave. Just the right amount of extra
room many families need to spread out in comfort. Well, that concludes our tour. But the story
is just beginning here at Disney's Art of Animation Resort at Walt Disney World. Hope
to see you real soon!
