There are two ways to hold the drum sticks. There is the match script way, the traditional
grip way. And the match script way, there's three basic grips. There is the German grip,
which is where your hands are out, almost parallel to the floor. The French way, which
is where your hands are almost perpendicular to the floor. And the American way, which
is just in between. That's the way, I like to play. You can also play traditional grip.
That's when you, it's not the way I showed you before, how to hold the stick. Your stick
in your hand like this. The thumb, two fingers over, like that. And this is the fulcrum,
in traditional grip. It's right there on the thumb. And the rest is kind of, just to control
where the stick's going. So you find what's best for you. Which of the three grips, you
like best. I like American.
