Hey everyone, how's it going?
I've been kind of playing around with the angles of these videos for awhile now.
I used to have my camera over here.
That last video was right here.
I haven't really figured out where I want to keep the angle yet, I think though this
will be pretty good.
Today I'm going to talk about one of my weird fascinations, and that's quotes.
Pretty much my entire life I've been interested in quotes, and learning quotes, and memorizing
quotes because I like saying quotes in public because it makes me sound smart.
I think one of the reasons why I've been fascinated with quotes, uh, for so long is because of
my parents.
My parents own their own business, and they make these antique signs, with different sayings
on them.
Um, here's an example of one of those signs. It says “I'm so far behind I thought I was
first.”
They have probably close to two hundred or three hundred of these signs, um, that theymake
and sell all over the united states. And it's really fascinating to me, and I think it's
played a big part in one of the reasons why I've been so fascinated with quotations and
the quotes of famous people.
So today I'm going to talk about these quotes that are pretty much genius but it's a, it's
a style of quote that I hate pretty much with a passion.
It's those quotes that they say something and then they kind of take the words and they
mix them around to make it say something else, and then you're thinking “That's genius!”
I don't know if that makes sense or not, so I'll go ahead and give you a couple of these
quotes.
Robert Bolton once said “A belief is not merely an idea the mind possesses, it's an
idea that possesses the mind.” And this is what I'm talking about, where they take
something and then they mix around and it makes it like “that's genius!”
There are a lot of these quotes that are really, really good, but I really don't like the style.
Some other ones are like “The farther backward you can look, the farther forward you can
see” that was said by Winston Churchill.
Or stuff like “In the end it's not the years in your life that count, it's the life in
your years.”
That was by Abraham Lincoln, by the way.
I'm not really sure why I don't like these quotes because they're really good quotes,
but there's just something about them that doesn't appeal to me.
And I think one of the things that doesn't appeal to me about these quotes is the fact
that I hate them so much, and yet one of my favorite quotes of all time, is one of these
quotes
I don't know who said this quote, but my favorite quote of all time is “Perfection is only
achieved when you accept it, and accepting perfection is imperfect.”
I think when done correctly those kind of quotes can be pretty cool, but here are some
examples of quotes that are kind of made of fail.
I don't know who said any of these things, and I really don't even know if they're acutal
quotes or what not, but these different sayings that are just really stupid.
Stuff like “If puns were outlawed, only outlaws would have puns”
Fail!
“A fine is a tax for doing wrong, and a tax is a fine for doing well”
Fail!
Or how about this one “IRS: We've got what it takes, to take what you've got!”
[Laughter]
So my question of the day, or week, is: What are some of your favorite quotes, and what
is the style of quote that you absoultely hate?
My top three favorite quotes of all time would be the one that I said, um, from the unknown
source “Perfection is only achieved when you accept it, and accepting perfection is
imperfect.”
Number two, Einstein said “I do not know which weapsons World War III will be fought
with, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.”
And I can't remember my third favorite quote.
And number three, Hubbard once said “No man needs a vacation so much as the man who
just had one.”
So those are my three favorite quotes, and the style of quote that I absolutely hate.
Have you guys noticed that I do my threes like this when I count with my fingers.
It's really weird I count like this:
One
Two
Three
Four
Five
And that's because I can't do an actual three with this hand. Like my pinky, I have to like
hold it down in order to do an actual three. Because my pinky,it, I don't,it, can't do
it. I can do it with this hand just fine, but this hand I can't do it with. It's so
weird. I have a retarted hand.
So that's all for right now, answer my two questions in the comments below, and if you
happen to know who said my favorite quote of all time please tell me, because I would
love to know.
So I will see you guys the next time I upload a video, I'm not quite sure when it will be,
I've been kind of developing an idea in my head about the next video, um, but I'm not
sure if I'm going to be able to pull it off yet or not.
Uh, we'll see though. Hopefully I can do it, and upload it, uh, rather soon.
But until then you guys
Should
Stay awesome, because awesome is awesome, alright? So stay awesome, awesome.
