It all started with the 1976 Ford Fiesta
6 Generations 5 Decades and 36 years later
The New Ford Fiesta
So just how different are these two Fiestas?
To find out we tested both cars using the most (in)experienced drivers we could find.
Test 1 - Start the car and weave through a line of traffic cones
First up: The 1976 Ford Fiesta Drivers
My name is Kevin Pauly. I'm 18-years-old.
My name is Marisa Salber. I'm 20-years-old.
I've had my licence for a year and a half now.
And I've had my licence since I was 17.
I've never driven a car from the 70's or any other Ford Fiesta before.
I thought it was difficult in the beginning.
I had trouble finding my key.
The steering was difficult.
Yeah, definitely it was really hard. You really have to work hard to drive.
It felt good to give the car gas though.
Next up: the New Ford Fiesta Drivers
My name is Dorothee Proessdorf. I'm 18-years-old.
My name is Christoph Damerow. I'm 22-years-old.
I've had my licence for a year and a half.
And I've had my licence for 4 years.
Just brilliant.
I got in without a key, pressed a button, the engine started
and you're ready to drive.
Super smooth.
It wasn't stressful, it wasn't jerky. Totally easy to drive and really comfortable.
