"Metal Gear Solid" Film Will Feature Original Story: ****** Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: ******  The director of the Metal Gear Solid film, Jordan Vogt-Roberts, has revealed that the script - which was recently finalised - is not based on any particular game in the franchise  Speaking to IGN Live, the director explained that he got some typically enigmatic advice from series mastermind Hideo Kojima. The long-time studio exec is said to have told ld Vogt-Roberts to "do what I would do, betray your audience."  The director explained that what he wanted to do was "try and translate what fans want and expect and truly take the unwieldy, amazing decade-spanning timeline and have a way to make a part of that make sense as a film."  There are a few takeaways from that statement - the film will work in the frameworks set by the video game franchise, and live within the weird, uncomfortable world Kojima created - without directly adapting one story. It also implies that the game will take place within the cannon established by the game series, not add to it in a separate part of the universe - or much later in the timeline.  He goes on to say:  "We're not exactly adapting something verbatim as 'this game,' but we're also not just going to throw it out in a crazy Dark Tower way that it completely disregards why fans love the thing."  CREDIT: Konami  Even more interestingly, he seemed very excited at the potential of the script to truly be innovative.  "The way in which we're dealing with time periods and the scope of it is one of the things I look at in the scrpt and say 'I've never seen that before.'"  It's exciting for players that the movie seems set to follow the games franchise into weird territory without fear of confusing or scaring away its audience.  Apparently, the script "taps into Metal Gear lore in a way that people just haven't seen," whilst also eschewing a three-act structure because "audiences are bored of this formula."  It certainly seems like the Metal Gear Franchise is in good hands and it's reassuring to know that Kojima is working closely alongside the project. Kojima has previously praised Vogt-Roberts breathlessly   No actor has yet been cast in the project but there have been several rumours of who could play Snake and co - with whispers that Christian Bale could play the former soldier.  Vogt-Roberts last film was 2017's Kong: Skull Island.The next entry into the Warner Bros MonsterVerse the new Kong films live in is Godzilla: King of the Monsters.
