Hey, I’m Brenda Cheek I’m with FEMA.
Dan Dailey.
Community Relations in Wakulla County.
David, I’m Leon.
We’re just trying to get the word around
to everybody so no one falls through the
cracks, we’ve got a
Disaster Recovery Center set up.
The Disaster Recovery Center is here to
support the applicant in the recovery process.
When they come into apply, if they have not
registered yet, they should basically have
their personal information,
their Social Security number,
they should have Social Security numbers
for all the members of their household.
The Recovery process is a partnership
between FEMA and the state. In this center
and all the centers we have a state manager
as well as a FEMA Recovery Center manager.
I think this kind of Disaster Recovery Center
operation is a good thing. We have the
Department of Children’s and Families here,
we have the Department of Health here,
we have the Department of Elderly Affairs.
Then we have numerous volunteer organizations
and you know they’re here to help them.
The disaster recovery begins from the community,
and expands out to the federal government,
so the more cooperation we can have from
local and state government, the better and
easier the process becomes for the individual.
