Each week the Council and a number of Housing Associations will advertise their available
properties.
They will be advertised in different ways including the Leicester HomeChoice weekly
printed vacancy sheet which is available from the Property Shop at the Housing Options Centre,
Leicester City Council Customer Service Offices and Neighbourhood Housing Offices across the
city. It can also be found at local libraries across the city where free internet use is
available.
In addition, properties will be available to view via the internet on interactive television
services and will be on display at the Property Shop at the Housing Options Centre.
As a housing applicant you will then be able to decide which, if any, of the available
You can apply for both Council and Housing Association properties using one of the four
available methods the Internet, telephone, text message or interactive television services..
You must apply for a property that you would like to be considered for before the closing
date for that week. You can choose up to three properties each week, but if you miss the
deadline you will not be considered.
Properties will still be offered using the points system and you will only be considered
for one that meet your individual needs. For example a single person would only be able
to apply for a one-bedroom property.
The properties that have been advertised will only be offered to those applicants that have
applied for them under the Leicester HomeChoice Scheme. This means that it is very important
that you apply for properties that you want otherwise you will not be considered for them,
Details of previously advertised properties will be published each week. This will show
how many people applied for a particular property and how many points were needed to secure
it.
This will help you to know what is happening and understand why you may not have been offered
one of the properties you applied for.
