I'm Nathan Rider, and I'm one of Westminsters Sporting Ambassadors for London 2012.
My name is Nicole Fox. I'm a sporting Ambassador for Westminster
and it is my dream to represent Great Britain in the 100 metres for 2012.
With the Oympics coming to London, there's never been a better time to get active
and get involved in sport.
And Westminster has some of the best sporting facilities in the whole country,
right on your doorstep. So what are you waiting for?
Even if you're not going to the Olympics, there are loads of great value activites,
for all ages and abilities.
There are 7 public sports and leisure centres in Westminster,
and we also work in partnership with our schools and academies,
giving the whole community access to their facilities.
All our centres operate on a pay as you play basis,
so there are no joining fees and no contracts.
The Westminster Rescard gets you money off entry fees and bookings.
And our membership packages are a great way
to lose the pounds you dont want without spending the ones you do.
Swimming is a great way to get healthy,
and Westminster offers the largest free swimming lessons programme in the country.
If you're under 19, over 60 or have a concessions card,
you can use our pools free of charge.
For those of you that like the easy life,
you can relax and refresh in our health suites and spas.
The Porchester Spa in Bayswater, has recently undergone a half million pound refurbishment,
and offers a wide range of treatments and steam rooms,
with male only and female only days.
Porchester Centre also hosts ballroom dances.
One of a range of activities especially for older residents,
that includes Tai Chi in the parks and organised walks.
For children and young people, the council provides 120 hours of free sporting acitivities,
each and every week.
Our school holiday sports camps are a great way
to try out loads of cool stuff and make new friends.
And if traditional sports aren't your thing,
why not try your hand at Parkour or even street dancing?
All you budding sports stars can join the champions for the future scheme.
that offers financial support for training and travelling, mentoring and free access to facilities.
Westminster offers a great support structure for your clubs and teams.
So whatever your game, look out for our leagues, tournaments and competitions.
But for all of this to happen, we need people like you.
So, if you want to get involved as a coach, instructor or referee just get in touch.
We've got loads of volunteering, training and employment opportunities
and we can even help you gain nationally recognised qualifications.
You can apply for a Rescard at the website below,
or get an application form from any one of our libraries or one stop shops.
And the sports and leisure pages on Westminsters website,
have got everything you need to know about what's on, where its happening and how to get involved.
