I do not deny my sex. I was born in a female biology and was raised accordingly. I know exactly how female bodies are subdued.
I am proud of the biology I share with women.
However, my gender is undeniable. The way I think, I act, I dress, I relate... is masculine.
I want the State to recognize the gender I live in.
I want my gender identity recognized on my ID.
"My Gender on My ID" is a draft law and a campaign that proposes to shed light on those who have remained historically invisible: trans people.
As trans, we are the living proof that sex and gender do not always align the same way.
The institutionalized contradiction between my identity and the document that should proclaim it affects me and my family.
I lived the transmasculine experience of giving birth.
I have a daughter and it is my concern that her citizen rights should not be hindered as a result of failure to recognize my gender on my ID.
