XIN CHÀO!
Hello everyone!
Welcome back to LearnVietnameseWithAnnie.
You know, I ask some of my foreign friends
what they need to learn the most
when they first come to Vietnam.
According to them, there are several
extremely-useful-expressions
to survive in Vietnam.
This week, let’s study two of those:
If you are ready to leave a restaurant
and you want waiter or waitress
to bring you the bill
so you can pay it and go,
you say:
one more time:
TÍNH, with the highest tone,
means 'to calculate'.
TIỀN with the low tone, means 'money'.
So, TÍNH TIỀN means 'Check, please!'
or 'The bill, please!'
If you want to be more polite,
you can call waiter or waitress
to get their attention.
For waiter, you say:
one more time:
For waitress, you say:
one more time
But if you find it quite complicated,
just wave your hand to get their attention
and say:
It's OK.
It is sure that
you have to buy something in Vietnam
and you need to learn
how to ask for the price.
You say:
one more time
OK, the keyword for this expression is
one more time:
So if you can’t remember all,
just say 'BAO NHIÊU?'
and sellers still understand you.
How about saying in more detail?
You say:
one more time:
'CÁI' with the highest tone
'NÀY' with the low tone
So, 'CÁI NÀY' means this one.
OK, if you buy more than 2 things,
and you want to ask: 'HOW MUCH IN TOTAL?'
you say:
one more time:
In which, 'TẤT CẢ'
with the highest and the curve tone
means ALL.
So one more time:
I hope these 2 expressions are useful for you.
So that’s it for today.
I hope you enjoy my video,
enjoy learning Vietnamese and
leave a comment
so I can improve my next videos for you.
Thanks for watching me!
See you next time!
