Beginning March, 1, 2014, affected employers must send their wage levy disclosures and
collected wage levy payments to the Minnesota Department of Revenue electronically.
One way we can collect payments due us from
debtors is through a withholding requirement we call "wage levies." We notify employers
by letter when they need to begin withholding these funds. Employers then must submit wage
levy disclosures to the department to let us know how much they need to deduct
from their employees' paychecks. If you're am employer in this position, you'll
find that conducting your wage levy business with us online is easier and faster than the
paper process. Now, you can simply submit your disclosures and payments through our
electronic system, called "e-Services." You can use just one transaction to send multiple
disclosures and payments. And since it's electronic, you can do it any time of day. If you're not
already an e-Services customer, you sign-up by clicking
the video screen here. The entire process takes a few simple clicks.
To submit wage levy disclosures electronically, go directly to your e-Services account, click
on "Levy Disclosure" in the "I Need To" menu, and follow the on-screen instructions.
You'll need to enter the Letter ID from the top right corner of the letter we sent requiring you
to begin withholding. You'll also enter the date from the same letter. You then have the
option to send a single disclosure or to send more than one at the same time.
If the disclosure calculates that you need to make a payment, deduct that amount from
your employee's wages and submit it to us either through e-Services or by having your
bank transfer funds to us by another, similar method called "ACH credit." You can submit
a payment through e-Services by clicking the "Make a Payment" link in the "I Need To" menu.
For information about submitting payments by ACH credit, go to our website by clicking
the video screen here, then type "ACH credit" in the "SEARCH" box.
