GOP running mate Paul Ryan’s slim debt plan isn’t the only thing catching the eye of
fiscal conservatives – or anyone else on the Internet. Mr. Ryan’s policies held off
overshadowing headlines about his physique since being announced as Mitt Romney’s running
mate...
...Then TMZ released this photo of the Wisconsin congressman shirtless... and all hell broke
loose. According to the source, this picture was taken six years ago, before Mr. Ryan claims
to have started his intense workout regimen.
Before the picture’s release, the mention of Mr. Ryan shirtless gave media outlets enough
political fodder to last a daily news cycle. Here’s KDAF and Fox News with more.
“He’s lean, he’s toned and he’s running for vice president, but who ever guessed America
would be screaming ‘Take it off!’ at Mitt Romney’s running mate?”
“If you could only get your hands on one thing, would you rather get Romney’s tax
returns or a picture of Paul Ryan shirtless?... I’d rather have Paul Ryan shirtless than

Jeanne Moos: “Everybody’s heard by now that Congressman Ryan is a devoted follower
of an exercise program that sounds like a secret weapon...”
Commercial: “Order P90X now!”
While Mr. Ryan isn’t the first to fall into the foray of shirtless leaders, Politico mentions
this year’s ticket is one of the most fit we’ve seen in recent years.
“In a curious juxtaposition, while America’s waistline expands the candidates gunning for
the White House have never looked better... Few have exhibited such a commitment to physical
fitness as this year’s crop.”
We weren’t able to find a direct correlation with solid physique and political success,
but there might be a winner in all of this...
Anchor: “How many more P90x programs have you sold as a result of Mr. Ryan’s nomination?”
Tony Horton: “There’s been some traffic on the website. Exact numbers I don’t quite
know, but I believe we’re doing pretty well...”
