Hi I'm Dr. Simcha Shapiro here with Expert Village. We're going to be going over the
technique called Muscle Energy. Now as we said before, this technique is a muscle resistance
technique, and is really about bringing a restricted joint, a restricted muscle to the
end of its movement. Then, having the person resist against you and then having them relax
and carrying the movement further. So, we're going to show you right now. Now, here's a
patient whose arm can't move past here. So what we're going to do is we are going to
bring the arm to its point of restriction. I'd like you to push very gently against me.
3,2,1 and relax. Now the force that they are pushing with is really, really gentle here.
Okay, let's do it again. Push against me, 3,2,1 and relax. And I'm stretching it out
and there we go. I've reached the next point where it can't move further. Push against
me, 3,2,1 and relax. And I'm going to stretch it again. And that's all there is to it.
