It is really important fora student to come to in right away we encourage students to start that relationship with us in their first year as a freshman and continue all four years
I was little bit nervous especially because i though i was going to be behind on wanting to switch majors. It was really nice to get that one on one attention to have a counselor invest in you pick a career path or different major
The UB 202 class is a great opportunity for students primarily start in their sophomore year to take a class that gives them the opportunity to go through a career exploration process
Find out what your purpose is, if you can't put your theme in one sentence you don't have a theme
At the end of this class students always say it was one of the most helpful classes I've taken
I know that you really focused on having more of a global interest
I went and met with Holly who is a Career counselor and she had me do two assessments iPlan and strength quest it allowed me to know what my strengths were and how i can utilize them and find a career. The Peace Cor fit those criteria perfectly
It's important for students to attend student fairs to practice there introduction skills, develop a poise confident about meeting employers all important skills
You get all of these employers under the same roof and you just get a lot of students you can draw from their energy

So your right you don't want to be to long you want to be thrall and you want to know when to get out and also show interest in them
Little person introduction a pitch who you are as a person where your from what your doing and get yourself out there in a friendly sincere way
If you can get yourself an internship with a company you really want to work in it is much more likely you will have an offer upon graduation then if you didn't.
Our offices is really working harder to work in collaboration with Academic departments and other internship on campus make more of them available and to really encourage students to go for those internships there critical
Since I graduated from UB I've been working as a free lance producer.
We have a awesome tool we call the mentor network basically it is a database with more than 600 people who are working at various industries
I'm really excited to be able to meet some of these people and now use them as a signing board to see ways that i can propel my career
if they consistently use career services they will have a better outcome upon graduation
This is a tremendous research start early and keep that relationship going your entire college career
